First Day on the FARM

Woke up at 7 am, left house at 7:40
Biked to Farm, arrived at 8:10
Met Ray and Sidney from the Education Dept.
Met other farm staff, as well as 4 other Farm Based Educators (FBEs)
Toured the farm, met all the animals including: sheep, pig, goats, ox, geese, chickens
Set up electric fencing, herded sheep into the new enclosure (Daniel got knocked to the ground by one of the female sheep)
Did some heavy lifting including moving a chicken house
Watched a lamb get CASTRATED! yes, i'm totally serious.
Noticed that it was very smoky. Apparently a fire in Quebec was creating a haze all throughout New England:

Had lunch.
Went on another tour led by Becca of the greenhouses and the production garden.
Planted onions and leeks.
Got ourselves a plot in the community garden, snagged some onion and kale from plots.
Biked home, stopped at the grocery store for supplies.
Cooked the kale and onions!
ate dinner: leftovers
Daniel "made" pita bread. He immediately threw it away after it came out of the oven (for good reason)
